Context

Opening in 2022, the New Zealand International Convention Centre (NZICC) is New Zealand's first world-class convention centre.

NZICC will position Auckland as a credible destination for large business events and deliver $90 million of economic benefits annually.

In the lead-up to opening, The NZICC's sales team have been working to secure a pipeline of bookings.

With the team competing against large international venues, it was important for the website to punch above its weight.

Approach

The website is an important marketing asset and tool to support the sales team in securing events.

We need to ensure that the right balance was struck between form an function. To do this, we worked closely with stakeholders from both teams.

Using an interactive prototype, we were able to align everyone and quickly explore and evolve the experience.

Key journeys were mapped and tested, as we checked that pathways to important content were clear.

NZICC's visual identity was fresh and easily adapted across all screen sizes in the design of the UI.

Bold and welcoming, with a uniquely modern New Zealand feel - the website helps prospective clients easily explore the NZICC.

The site conveys the NZICC's distinct benefits and gives prospective clients the confidence to make an enquirey.

Within the website, an interactive configurator plays a key role in helping visitors to explore the facility.

Using it, clients can customise the venue to their unique requirements and see how versatile it is.
